About Eleanor
Eleanor was born and raised in New Mexico and has raised her four children in District 13, living in the same house for over 22 years, where she has been actively involved in her children’s education at Carlos Rey Elementary, Truman Middle School or West Mesa High School. Eleanor can often be found volunteering at her daughter’s West Mesa volleyball & softball games. Go Mustangs!

Eleanor is a dedicated community leader. She has a long history of defending people’s dignity at work by improving their wages and working conditions. That’s why she is endorsed by Union of Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) and the NM State Federation of Labor.

As chair of the Health Security for New Mexican’s campaign, Eleanor has spent over 12 years standing up to the insurance companies and working to ensure that all New Mexican’s have quality, affordable healthcare.

As a leader of local non-profit organizations, she has worked to improve the lives of people in communities throughout Albuquerque by holding elected officials accountable and ensuring that big corporations don’t pollute our environment and use up all our precious natural resources like water for over 20 years.

Why I’m Running
I want to be your next state representative because we need someone who has proven that they will stand up to the big money special interests and their lobbyists in Santa Fe. I have a 20 year track record of fighting on behalf of working families and against corruption at the Roundhouse.

As your state representative, I will:
• Stand up to the health insurance industry and pass homegrown universal healthcare for all New Mexican’s to fix this healthcare crisis.
• Fight for jobs with a living wage and good benefits, and strengthen our economy by attracting green businesses that will be responsible partners.
• Push for equitable and sufficient funding for our public schools.
